As Supernatural‘s season 12 winds down, Sam and Dean could use all the help they can get. Not only are they dealing with Lucifer’s baby — which Castiel has now decided to protect — but they’ve got Mr. Ketch breathing down their necks, even if they don’t fully realize it yet. In other words, one enemy is trying to kill them while another could potentially destroy the world. Typical stuff, right?

So with Team Free Will falling apart at the moment — and Crowley focused on keeping Lucifer as a “pet” — it seems only fitting that EW exclusively reveal new promo photos in which all the men stand alone.

Getting Ready for the Dior Show with Big Little Lies’ Kathryn Newton

The advice she got from Reese Witherspoon, her in-flight beauty trick and first visit to the Dior atelier.

It’s hard to put our finger on it, but there was something about our shoot with Kathryn Newton, the morning of the Dior show, that we knew would be one of those extra special ones (there’s something contagious about your first time at Paris Fashion Week that tends to have that effect). After being greeted at the door of her hotel suite by her mom (!), and catching sight of a rack of beautiful Dior gown after beautiful gown, that much was clear pretty much immediately.

If you don’t know Kathryn Newton yet, you should. At just 20 years old, she’s starring in HBO’s Big Little Lies along Reese Witherspoon, Zoe Kravitz and Nicole Kidman (ever heard of ‘em?), and has movies with Greta Gerwig, Frances McDormand and Woody Harrelson coming out soon, too. Dressed by Dior in a stunning ruby red gown with a black choker around her neck, Newton explained she chose the look because while it was new, it felt like “a classic Dior dress”. Having worked on her collection of pretty designer things since age 15, she would know. Other revelations from our A.M. hang? She’s practically a pro golfer, travels everywhere with her favorite pillow, loves a sheet mask on the plane, and has been on the receiving end of Witherspoon’s sage advice ever since their mother-daughter time on Big Little Lies. Told you she’s one to watch.

When it’s all said and done, 2016 may go down as the year Hollywood finally recognized Asian Americans. At least that’s what actor Osric Chau hopes. The Canadian-born actor – best known to fans as Kevin Tran on The CW’s Supernatural and now as one of the stars of BBC America’s newest hit, Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency – recently returned from Lisbon, Portugal where he was speaking on diversity in media as a part of Web Summit, one of the largest tech-focused conferences in the world.
In an environment dominated by innovation and technology, Chau realized society at large had to take on similar thinking. “We’re surrounded by thousands of companies that are really pushing our society forward and we have to do the same thing with tolerance,” Chau said. “It’s not just about ‘tolerating’ one another anymore; it’s about accepting people, making diversity a normal thing.”

Lorelai Gilmore won’t stop talking. Ever. It’s kind of her thing. She talks incessantly at a lightning-quick pace that can only be sustained by drinking multiple cups of coffee every day. At least she did … until season 7. Lauren Graham remembers the exact moment it happened. “I was in a scene in that seventh season and I thought, ‘Something feels so odd to me,’” Graham says. “And it was I was in a scene with two other people and I wasn’t talking. I thought, ‘I’ve never had this before.’” For Gilmore Girls fans, season 7 is essentially The Godfather Part III of the series: Some people defend it, but it doesn’t come close to touching the original. That all stems from the fact that Gilmore creator, Amy Sherman-Palladino, along with executive producer Daniel Palladino, left the show after season 6 due to contract disputes. And Gilmore had to continue without its leaders for what would become its final season. (It was canceled after shooting wrapped.) With that cancellation, fans were forced to accept the season 7 finale — which featured Rory (Alexis Bledel) heading off to cover the Obama campaign and Lorelai rekindling her romance with Luke (Scott Patterson) — as the series ending. That is until Netflix came to the rescue.

On Friday, Nov. 25, Netflix will release Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, a four-part revival that will take fans back inside Stars Hollow so Sherman-Palladino can finally end the show the way she always intended, down to the final four words that she’d first imagined in season 1 — words Matt Czuchry believes will cause a “heated debate” among fans. That ending comes packed full of familiar faces — Sookie! Paris! Paul Anka! — though its focus is on the one that’s missing. The revival kicks off with the funeral of Richard Gilmore (actor Edward Herrmann died in 2014) and follows the remaining Gilmores as they work through their grief over the next year. “It’s a story about women at crossroads in their lives,” Sherman-Palladino says. “It’s going to have more weight and more emotion, because there’s more time and when you’ve got time, you don’t have to truncate moments.”
